Save our libraries!

Threat? Wickersley Library.

Sir, this Saturday (5th February) sees a national Save Our Libraries day of action.

Events in neighbouring authorities have shown how passionate people are about their library service, in the face of swingeing cuts.

I would urge Rotherham folk to go to their local library and borrow a book; or ask for help from a librarian; or just show their support for a public service that offers so much to so many.

It is to be hoped that our council do not follow the example of Doncaster, and that the new library at Riverside House at the least matches the Central Library in service and stock.
