KILNHURST: plea for Resource Centre volunteers

AN ACTION group which runs a resource centre is on the lookout for more people to get involved.

Kilnhurst Action Group, which runs the modern Resource Centre in the centre of the village, is holding its annual general meeting next Wednesday  and is appealing for input from residents.

Chairman Rachel Sanderson said: “The Resource Centre is there for all in Kilnhurst both young and old.

“It does not seem to be widely known that everyone in Kilnhurst has a share in the centre. It is owned by the people of Kilnhurst.

“We hold a number of activities there at the moment but need more ideas and interest from the community.”

Current activities at the centre include line dancing, keep fit, bingo, family history research and Qiquong, a gentle form of Tai Chi.

Rachel added: “We plan to start a photographic section and a model club and we are keen to start a writers’ workshop. The centre is also available for hire for parties, weddings and similar functions.”

The AGM starts at 6pm on Wednesday and the organisers hope that Kilnhurst residents will attend the meeting and let them know what they want—or, better still, volunteer to help them.
