THe ghostly impression of the owl on the window

A COUPLE returned from a break in the Lake District to find a spooky imprint of an owl on their window—but no trace of the bird.

Adele Beaumont-Smith (33) of Dovedale Road, Herringthorpe, was stunned to find the perfect white outline on her bedroom window on Friday.

She said: “We had been to Lake Windermere for three nights and I was unpacking when I noticed the imprint.

“The detail is quite remarkable, especially the feet and feathers. It must have flown into our bedroom window with quite some force.

“At first I was worried that it may have been hurt and went straight out into the garden with my husband, Will, to see if we could find it.

“There was no sign apart from one small feather just below the window so hopefully it wasn't too badly hurt.”

Adele said that she had never spotted an owl in the garden before but regularly spied woodpeckers and foxes while walking their dog in near by woods.

She added: “We’ve shown it to a few of our friends who were stunned by the detail.

“It will be a shame for the window cleaner to clean it off.”
