Fugitive traced.

POLICE have thanked the public for their help in finding a wanted criminal after he was caught and returned to jail.

Officers asked for residents’ assistance in tracking down Jack Houlton (20), who had breached his licence conditions after being released following a sentence for greivous bodily harm.

Several people contacted the police after appeals were made for information about

Houlton, including on this website and in the Advertiser newspaper.
A spokeswoman revealed this week that Houlton had now been found and returned to prison.

“The team dealing with wanted offenders said several members of the public called in providing leads for officers to follow-up and said they had done so after seeing Houlton's details,” she said.

“Several others called in and confirmed addresses we had for the wanted offender and as such officers were able to focus their search and apprehend him.”
