Biker robbers in petrol station hold-up bid

Would-be robbers escape on off-road bike.

POLICE have launched a hunt for two men who attempted to rob a petrol station before fleeing on an off-road motor-cycle.

Officers are appealing for information and witnesses after the two men pulled up at the Asda petrol station on Aldwarke Lane, Dalton, and attempted to rob the kiosk at around 9.30pm on Saturday.

The the bike’s rider allegedly banged on the window of the kiosk and shouted threats at the male attendant who fled into a back-room, fearing for his safety.

The two men then fled empty handed in the direction of Dalton and Thrybergh.
Moments later, the store manager and security guard arrived on the scene and called the police.

A police spokesman said: “The offender was wearing a balaclava under a helmet and a dark jacket. 

“He is described as a white male in his late teens or early 20s with dark eyes.”
