KEVIN Barron has been elected chairman of a body monitoring the conduct of MPs.
The Labour member for Rother Valley has been a member of the Standards and Privileges Committee for five years.
Mr Barron said: “The committee considers reports from the Parliamentary Commissioner for Standards, oversees his work and recommends any changes to the rules relating to the conduct of MPs.”
The committee examines and reviews the Register of Members’ Interests and considers specific complaints made against MPs.
