The 41-year-old from Eastwood, who was killed by a single stab wound in March, was diagnosed with Glanzmanns thrombasthenia as a baby.

The walk around Rotherham, sets off on July 25 at around 10.30am from All Saints Square and everyone is welcome to join in. Julie’s funeral last month was family flowers only, with donations in lieu also going to research into the blood disorder.

Glanzmanns thrombasthenia is a protein deficiency in the circulation, which can cause internal bleeding and even be life-threatening. Julie’s family are planning a number of fund-raising activities to help research.

Sponsor sheets can be collected from the Rotherham Advertiser and Rotherham Record offices on Wellgate. For more information call 07983 302679 and ask for Bev.
