FIRE bosses in South Yorkshire are asking householders to have their say on how to make savings of £9 million.
The fire service fears government funding cuts could cost them around 15 per cent of their annual budget of £9 million over the next three years.
South Yorkshire Fire and Rescue gets around £60 million a year and currently spends all but £12 million on staff.
Bosses stressed they do not want to cut “essential frontline services” but admit they have few options to save money.
Union sources have already warned that any frontline job cuts would be opposed, saying that staffing was already at “dangerous levels.”
