Lotus unveils Emeya GT

​​LOTUS’S recent growth under the ownership of China’s Geely has hit its stride with the unveiling of another range addition – the Emeya grand tourer (GT).

Following in the tyre tracks of the Emira coupe, Eletre SUV and Evija hypercar, production of the Emeya will start in 2024, according to the Norfolk-based performance carmaker.

Lotus claims it will be one of the fastest electric GTs in the world, with acceleration to 62mph expected to take under 2.8 seconds.

“Bringing together our rich heritage with intelligent performance and the latest cutting-edge technologies, we’re pushing the boundaries for how a luxury electric vehicle should look and handle– making it truly for the drivers,” said Feng Qingfeng, CEO, Lotus Group.

Lotus said that it would be capable of adding 93 miles of range with approximately five minutes of charge using a 350kW DC fast charger.
