Wreath to be laid at site of Maltby Colliery disaster
The event marks the anniversary of 27 men being killed in an underground explosion at Maltby Colliery in 1923.
Maltby Miners’ Memorial Community Group has invited all known relatives of the victims and will welcome any members of the public wanting to pay their respects.

Hide AdThe service takes place at 2.30pm at the memorial on Limekiln Lane, which is situated directly above where the disaster happened.
The group is also fundraising for a permanent memorial in Maltby for all 160 people who died at the pit during its history.
A fun day on Coronation Park will take place from 11am to 4pm on Saturday, August 5. The event will include stalls, games, bouncy castles, rides and refreshments.
