PARISH COUNCIL: A meeting of Ulley Parish Council took place in the village hall on March 30. A member of the public raised a few issues, notably the potholes on Turnshaw Road and parking of vehicles on the reservoir bridge. The absence of a borough council representative was questioned. A wooden post in the recreation ground needed to be replaced to deter vehicles being parked in the children’s play area. It was reported that vehicles were being parked in places where the councillors and helpers had improved areas in the village. Minutes of the previous meeting were approved. The village newsletter will include an invitation to residents to apply for the position of parish councillor for Ulley as two vacancies have arisen. There had been no police report. A discussion was held on the relevant course to take to install traffic-calming measures in the village main street as, due to its narrow nature, large vehicles were unable to pass without damaging pavements. Dog fouling, especially in the children’s play areas, was discussed and the erection of polite signs was to take place. The issue of litter in the village and surrounding roads needed addressing. The next meeting is on May 27 7pm.
