ST HELEN’S CHURCH: Services held on Sunday 3.30pm. These include all age, Communion and family worship with Sunday school. For information about baptisms or weddings or to speak to a member of the clergy in confidence, visit Meeting Point at St Andrew’s Centre, Brinsworth, any Thursday 6.30-7.30pm or ring the team office 01709 361630.

 

TREETON BAPTIST CHURCH: Services held 10.45am on Sunday with Communion on first Sunday of month. The church provides infant and child dedications, weddings and wedding vow renewals, contact 0114 269 4000 or go to website Treeton Baptist Church and follow links to send a message.

TREETON COMMUNITY CENTRE: The centre on Pit Lane has a large hall and other rooms for hire. Evening classes include singing and zumba on Tuesday, karate on Wednesday and table tennis on Thursday. There are occasional quiz evenings and table top sales, see noticeboard outside centre. On April 2 there was an Easter fayre which raised £162 for the centre’s funds.

 

TREETON LIBRARY: The library at Treeton Baptist Church is open every Tuesday 9.30am-12.30pm to exchange books and jigsaws. During school holidays, Bookworms activity classes are held for children.

 

HOUSING SURGERY: Treeton residents can attend a drop in session every Thursday 10.15-11.30am at Treeton Reading Rooms where they can discuss problems relating to housing, anti-social behaviour, crime and the environment. The police, RMBC, Streetpride and Cllr John Swift are usually at these sessions. If anyone has a matter to discuss in private, make this known on arrival.

 

COUNCILLOR’S SURGERY: Cllr Darren Hughes of Rother Vale ward holds a surgery every Friday 5-6pm at Treeton Community Centre, Pit Lane.

 

TREETON LOCAL HISTORY GROUP: Meets on the last Thursday of each month at Treeton Reading Rooms. At last week’s meeting Suzanne Bingham gave a talk about Sheffielders on Holiday.
