The line-up has been revealed for the return of Wentworth Music Festival on Saturday, June 16.

This year’s debut festival featured Tony Christie, Heaven 17, Dodgy, T’Pau and a host of local acts, as well as a special buskers’ stage filled with hot prospects uncovered by an exclusive link-up with the Advertiser.

Radio presenters and close pals Toby Foster and Steve White are behind the event.

Toby said the pair had “learned a few lessons” from May’s musical showcase, but promised: “They’ve very much been taken on board and we look forward to Wentworth 2018 being even bigger and better.”

This year’s event will feature over 40 performers from the world of music, comedy and children's entertainment across four stages.

Already confirmed for the main stage are Atomic Kitten, who are back to their original line-up of Kerry Katona, Natasha Hamilton and Liz McClarnon.

From 2001 the girls, put together by OMD frontman Andy McCluskey who also acted as the group's main songwriter, notched up an impressive seventeen hit singles and three number 1s, including Eternal Flame and the song that became Atomic Kitten’s signature tune, Whole Again.

Also performing will be 80's and 90’s sensations Go West.

Fronted by guitarist Richard Drummie and singer Peter Cox, the band contributed to one of the most successful rom-com films of all time when their song The King Of Wishful Thinking.

Sheffield X-Factor star and folk singer Lucy Spraggan has also confirmed will be joining the Wentworth line-up next year, along with Right Said Fred, best known for 1991 hit I’m Too Sexy, and Scouting for Girls, whose She’s So Lovely was one of the biggest hits of the 2000s.

Event organiser Toby will on stage too, backing up Everly Pregnant Brothers frontman Shaun Doan in one-off project Big Shaun Pops Out, which will see them “putting our own spin” on plenty of the old favourites.

Ska and 2-Tone tribute act One Drop will also performing on the main stage in the afternoon.

The Last Laugh Comedy Stage will feature Phoenix Nights’ Justin Moorhouse, Jo Caulfield, Jonny Awsum, Phil Nichol and Jeff Innocent, with more to be added.

There will also be an Unsigned Stage  and a dedicated Kids Entertainment Village.

For the first time the event will also play host to a VIP village, complete with its own dedicated bar, luxury toilets, seating area and hot buffet served late afternoon.

“We want this festival to be something the village of Wentworth and surrounding areas is proud to be a part of every year,” said Toby.

“Both me and Steve live locally too so giving the area another great asset to shout about, along with the amazing scenery and attractions it already has, is paramount.”

Steve added: “When we started talking about this last year, there were a few residents who - very understandably — were concerned this kind of event would bring the wrong kind of atmosphere to the area.

“But I have to say, since the first event the locals have been incredible.

“The support we’ve had has been overwhelming and we really want to do Wentworth, and Rotherham, proud.”

Early-bird tickets are now on sale for £35 for adults, with prices set to rise by £5 in December.

Children’s tickets are £10 (ages 12 and under), whilst children aged three and under go free.
