Well Done, Rod - British Heart Foundation (BHF)

Groups and volunteers manager Hannah Saxon has presented retiring long-serving BHF Bawtry and Doncaster branch member Rod LeCouilliard with an appreciation certificate as a thank you for his huge contribution and achievements at the branch since he joined more than 23 years ago.

Rod has successsfully filled the role of branch in memoriam secretary which he has carried out for almost eight years during which time he has collected over £120,000 of donations for the branch. Rod has now handed the in memorium secretary reigns over to the current Bawtry and Doncaster BHF branch secretary Julie Callender, who has been a branch volunteer since 2001.

Julie joined the branch in memory of her sister Shirley who was born with congenital heart disease and died from complications after major surgery at the age of 33.

Julie raised more than £1,200 for the BHF last year when she completed the Manchester Marathon with her daughter Sarah and is currently in training for this year’s London Marathon.
