Vintage models on display at museum's open day

ROTHERHAM folk can take a step back in time this weekend as a museum opens it's doors for a vintage event day.

South Yorkshire Transport Museum, which has everything from heritage bus rides, to a fire engine and Second World War vehicles, is holding its latest open day between 11am and 4pm on Sunday.

There will also be the chance to see one of only two Rotherham motorbuses ever restored.

The museum also has a collection of older buses and other varied vehicles, and transport items.

Entry is £3.50 for adults, £2 for concessions and £8 for a family of up to two adults and three children.

People who arrive at the museum on Waddington Way in Aldwarke, in a pre-1973 classic vehicle will be admitted free.

A vintage bus will be available from 11am until 4.30pm to provide a regular shuttle service to the museum from Rotherham Interchange.
