VIDEO: Baby wallaby warming hearts at wildlife centre

A HOPPY new arrival has been making new friends at a wildlife centre.

The Parma wallaby baby has been exploring the Wilderness Walk-through at The Tropical Butterfly House, Wildlife & Falconry Centre at North Anston after spending the first six months of its life in its mum’s pouch.

A competition is now being held to invite names for the new arrival, whose sex has not yet been checked.

Abigail Carter, animal team leader at the wildlife centre, said: “In the wild, Parma wallabies are only found in Australia, and New Zealand, and are classified on as near-threatened, so it’s truly amazing for our visitors to be able to see these beautiful creatures up close.”

Visit the centre to meet the new arrival up close.

Head to Facebook or Instagram to put forward your suggestion for the little one’s name.
