Event organisers are putting the call out to local horticulturists to make the day complete with specialist flower growers, as well as those who sell gardening supplies being offered the chance to hold a stall during the two days.

Rotherham general markets manager, Robin Lambert, explained: "This is the second Garden Lovers' Fayre the town has hosted and if last year is anything to go by, it should be another fantastic couple of days filled with everything you will need to create the perfect garden for summer.

"As part of the celebrations, we will be welcoming local experts, as well as a host of stalls selling garden gifts, hanging baskets, the chance to sign up for horticultural classes and a series of live demonstrations.

"The market stalls really make the two days complete and are the perfect accompaniment to the other attractions. I hope we manage to better the amazing turn out of last year and have the streets filled with stalls.

"Whether you are a specialist trader or an allotment holder, the Garden Lovers' Fayre is the perfect place to exhibit your wares in front of thousands of visitors. I have to say though, the highlight of the Fayre will be the visit from Pippa."

Mirror newspaper columnist, Pippa, whose book “New Gardener” sold in excess of 250,000 copies, will be meeting the public and market stall holders, as well as hosting a book signing and autograph session.

She will also be using her considerable experience, which has been highlighted on her Radio 4 series “Growing Science”, to give an exclusive demonstration about herbs, followed by a question and answer session.
