Ticket re-sellers come under fire from the Advertising Standards Authority

The Advertising Standards Authority has taken action against four major firms regarding online pricing of tickets

StubHub UK, Seatwave, Viagogo and GetMeIn! have been targeted by the ASA, which found that the process of buying tickets online was misleading for customers.

Additional fees and charges were added in the final stages of the booking process, ASA said.

Many of these secondary ticket websites have come under fire from customers who claim additional fees have been taken from their accounts without consent.

Many top acts including Mumford & Sons, Ed Sheeran and Radiohead have spoken out against ticket re-sellers.

Under new legislation, passed by the House of Lords, from February 25 companies have been regulated more closely and fines up to £5,000 can be handed out.

The ASA has said it wants to see more transparency from these companies in the future.
