Swing-savvy twins bring cool Crooners to CAST

WAX your moustache and polish your bowler — two musicians are returning to Rotherham with some classy crooners in tow.

Local-born twins Jon and Chris Hibbard have toured the world with The Mini Big Band, supporting big names and satisfying huge corporate clients.

The seasoned swingers will present Crooners, their brand new musical, at Doncaster’s CAST on Friday night.

The show features ex-professional footballer Jim Whitely, who previously played for Wrexham, Manchester City and Ireland.

But the sportsman will swap the stadium for the stage and boots for brogues when he steps out as suave Samuel Davis.

He will be joined by TV soap star and Frank Sinatra tribute Roman Marek, who plays fabulous Francis.

Philip Barley, a globe-trotting Dean Martin impersonator, completes the trio as delectable Dr Martin.

Expect crooner classics like Lady is a Tramp, Come Fly With Me, Beyond The Sea and Mac The Knife, all delivered with a twist of comedy.

The three will be backed by The Mini Big Band — the swinging ten-piece set-up founded by the Hibbard twins.

Together, these cool cats will show with timeless style why the age of the crooner is not over just yet.

The performance begins at 7.30pm on Friday, June 23. Tickets cost £18.50 each, or £16.50 for concessions.
