Stage school spots up for grabs

FREE acting training places are up for grabs in a theatre’s summer school.

A total of 23 spots are on offer for young people with Sheffield Threatres’ Summer School, which runs from July 31 to August 12 (excluding August 5 and 6).

Those taking part will have the chance to develop their skills in acting, singing and stagecraft, with food and travel costs also covered.

Three different age groups are on offer: ages nine to 12, 13 to 15, and 16 to 25, as well as a Technical Summer School for young people aged 16 and over  who are interested in learning about stage management, lighting and sound.

No previous acting or theatre experience is needed, with the two weeks culminating in a performance in the Crucible's Studio Theatre.

To apply for a fully-funded place, email [email protected] or call 0114 249 6000.

Paid-for summer school places start from £150 and are available by calling 0114 249 6000 or visiting sheffieldtheatres.co.uk.
