Children were transformed into butterflies and spiders by face-painter Zoe Hulbert.

Even the Easter bunny dropped in, as did students from St Bernard’s Catholic High School.

The generous pupils had collected chocolate treats for youngsters on the hospital’s children’s ward.

The Purple Butterfly Appeal raises money to fund Purple Butterfly rooms — facilities providing privacy and a home-from-home for patients nearing the end of their lives.
