Themes will include work at the coal face, pit ponies, child labour and confrontation.

It is being organised by former Rotherham College art head Derek Allport and gallery curator Vicky Hilton.

They are still seeking contributors to the show and would like to hear from artists, schools, community groups, pit bands, unions and private collectors.
