Performers wanted for Phoenix Operatic's The Wiz

ONE hundred and eleven years after Frank L Baum wrote'The Wonderful Wizard Of Oz, Phoenix Operatic Society will be staging the modern version The Wiz'in March 2011 at the Rotherham Civic Theatre.

ONE hundred and eleven years after Frank L Baum wrote 'The Wonderful Wizard Of Oz', Phoenix Operatic Society will be staging the modern version 'The Wiz' in March 2011 at the Rotherham Civic Theatre.

The production shows Dorothy's adventures in Oz set to a dazzling lively mix of rock, gospel and soul music including songs; Everybody Rejoice (Brand New Day), Home and Ease on Down the Road.

With an original cast of over 50 performers Phoenix is looking for new members to help them stage this carnival of fun with all principal roles, dancers and chorus parts available.

Rehearsals start from  September 15 with new members aged 14 and over welcome.

Auditions will be held in early October for Principal roles and for the children's company. Rehearsals take place Wednesday's 7:30pm at  Brinsworth West Community Centre, Brinsworth Road. For further information, contact 07507 641131.
