Minster date for South Yorkshire police band

A SPECIAL charity concert featuring the South Yorkshire Police Brass Band takes place later this month.

Rotherham Holiday Aid (RHA) is holding the concert in Rotherham Minster next Friday and the evening, which starts at 7.30, will include a mixed programme of music performed by the police band.

RHA began more than 20 years ago and since then has supported at least 1,500 disadvantaged families in the borough by providing a break from the pressures of everyday life.

And help is still needed today for families suffering the trauma of unemployment, long term illness, disability, bereavement or breakdown in a relationship—in the last year alone, the charity helped almost 300 Rotherham children and their parents to have a break.

RHA has a minimum target of £13,000 each year and works in partnership with the national Family Holiday Association, which makes grants to match the amount raised locally, effectively doubling the support available to Rotherham families.

Tickets for the concert on June 18 cost £5 and are available on the door or in advance from the secretary, Harry Bower, by e-mailing [email protected] or telephoning 01709 364434.
