Mexborough’s on song

SINGERS from the Mexborough Male Voice Choir are preparing to share their love of music with female vocalists from the renowned Kidderminster Valentine Ladies Choir.

The two renowned groups are coming together for a special concert at Wentworth Parish Church from 7pm on July 26.

The Valentine Ladies will be singing a substantial and varied programme that includes Bert Bacharach's Close to You, the haunting N'kosi Sikelel'I Africa together with Paul Simon's 59 Street Bridge Song and the celebrated The Rose as part of their repertoire.

The Valentines Choir are led by Morfidd Sinclair, who will be assisted by flautist and top Soprano Rebecca Harker.

Mexborough Male Voice Choir will again be led by their Musical Director Mark Rotchell and will be accompanied by Elizabeth Cooke.

The choir will be including in their programme the ever popular Perhaps Love by John Denver, Unchained Melody and the rousing Gwahoddiad.

Tickets £6 each and are available from the garden centre or the village shop in Wentworth.
