Matthew Halsall at Sheffield’s Millennium Hall

A BELTING evening of jazz and brass is on the cards for music lovers this weekend.

Manchester based trumpeter, composer, arranger and band-leader Matthew Halsall comes to Sheffield’s Millennium Hall on Friday night.

Halsall has carved out a niche for himself on the UK music scene as one of it's brightest talents and his languid, soulful music has won friends from Jamie Cullum and Gilles Peterson to Jazz FM and Mojo,

Friday night’s show will feature The Gondwana Orchestra, which draws on the exotic flavours of harp and Eastern scales.

Support is provided by trio Mammal Hands.

The show starts at 7.30pm and tickets are £14 (£11 concessions).
