Carrie Kelly, Associate Medical Director at The Rotherham NHS Foundation Trust, said: “In the run up to Self Care Week, and as we approach Winter, we are reminding people of how important it is to look after themselves. No one wants to be in bed with aches and pains and no one wants to spend time in hospital. There are small things we can all do to help us to stay feeling fit and well such as eating healthily, exercising regularly and staying warm.

“It’s a good idea to make sure you have a well-stocked medicine cabinet to help you look after yourself if you do begin to feel poorly. Useful things to have in stock are cold relief products, pain relief such as paracetamol and bandages, plasters, and non-absorbent cotton wool.”
