Free workout sessions at Rotherham gym to boost mental health

A GYM is inviting over-16s to work out their worries with a week of free exercise.

Xercise4Less, on Greasbrough Street in the town centre, has announced the seven-day freebie to mark Mental Health Awareness Week, which runs until Sunday.

The gym will also be accepting donations for the Mental Health Foundation throughout the open event.

Xercise4Less founder Jon Wright said: “Mental Health Awareness Week is a fantastic time to promote the mental health benefits of exercise and physical activity.

“Exercise can be hugely beneficial to anyone suffering from mental health problems, such as depression or anxiety, and its also great for reducing stress levels.”

Xercise4Less Rotherham is open seven days a week and has more than 400 pieces of gym equipment.

It also runs regular classes and offers a separate ladies only gym area.
