Community group and MEP raise money for Pakistani school

A PAKISTANI school could be in line for new facilities as part of a fundraising initiative.

Community group Tassibee has teamed up with Linda McAvan MEP to raise money for the facility in the city of Pindi.

Ms McAvan will donate funds raised through the sales of her Christmas card to the project and has also organised a dinner to raise extra cash next year.

She said: “I am happy to be able to support a project that is so embedded within the community. Tassibee provides excellent support to black and minority ethnic women in Rotherham.

“It is good to see that this support has been extended to girls of the Tasibeh School in Pakistan.”
