Choirs needed to sing for the Samaritans

ROTHERHAM’S branch of the Samaritans is on the lookout for choirs to take part in a fundraising concert.

The charity event, to be known as Sing for Samaritans, is booked for Sheffield City Hall on Sunday, May 20, from 4pm.

Branch director Christine Edwards said: “We are hoping to have several choirs all doing maybe one or two songs, and we are hoping to give the participants seats for the concert.

“The event is in conjunction with my colleague Sandra Waters, who is the retiring director in Sheffield. I will be retiring in May this year too.

“We will share the proceeds of this fundraising event between our two branches.

“I would be interested to hear from any choirs who may consider helping us by participating.”
