CAMRA accolade for Rotherham's top pub

CAMRA has named the Bluecoat in The Crofts as its Rotherham pub of the year.

The Wetherspoon-owned pub is managed by Garry Carr, who said: “We are very proud to have won the award and it highlights the hard work by all the staff here to offer a superb range of real ales which are kept and served in tip-top condition at all times.”

The Bluecoat has 10 beers on offer inluding Best Bitter (Wentworth Brewery), Farmer's Blonde (Bradfield Brewery), Fools Twist (Shardlow Brewery) and Raspberry Wheat Beer (Milestone Brewery).

Members of CAMRA will be presenting their 'pub of the year' certificate to Garry at the pub next Thursday when there will be a chance to “meet the brewer” with representatives from the Springhead Brewery.

A selection of ales from the Newark-based brewery will be showcased on the night and will be available for customers to sample.
