Rotherham hospital fury as management consultant brought in

A ROW has broken out after Rotherham NHS bosses appointed a management expert who charges thousands of pounds a day for his services to help deal with its financial crisis.

Tim Bolot has been appointed a ‘interim driector of transformation’ at the Rotherham NHS Trust.

His last job paid £2,000 a day and Mr Bolot has earned up to £3,000 a day, bringing a furious reaction from staff at Rotherham Hospital where 750 jobs will be axed over the next two years to save £50m

Sue Cookman, of health union UNISON, said: “Quite frankly it’s becoming a farce, with the trust spending thousands on management consultants yet medical secretaries are having to buy their own post-it notes.”

The trust confirmed Mr Bolot had been appointed but a spokeswoman said they were “not paying the fee which has been historically reported in other media publications”.
