Driver arrested after car crashes through wall

PEDESTRIANS had a lucky escape after a car careered off the road smashing into a bus stop and into a garden.

The incident occurred on Good Friday around 11am on Union Street in Harthill.

Police arrested the male driver on suspicion of being unfit to drive through drink or drugs.

He has been bailed pending further enquiries.

An eyewitness said: “The car came right through the bus stop, luckily no-one was there, but ten minutes earlier and he could have killed someone.”
