Frecklington times it right for Millers

LEE Frecklington hopes he's timed his return just right to help Rotherham United stay in the Championship.

Injuries have restricted the club's longest-serving player to just 19 games this season and he's been champing at the bit to get back.

Since his return, Rotherham have won three from three, the team benefiting from his box-to-box play. It's a demanding role, especially for a player who hasn't played anywhere near as much as he'd like, but questions about his stamina were answered when he got up the pitch late on to nab the winner against Middlesbrough.

"I'd like to do that a few more times because I've only scored three times this season," admitted Frecklington.

"I've not played as many games as I'd like and it's nice to be back playing again and in the last couple of games I've managed to get an assist and a goal."

Frecklington will be hoping to play his part as the Millers look for a fourth straight Championship win when Derby are the visitors tomorrow.

Boss Neil Warnock admits Rotherham will be underdogs.

But speaking to the Advertiser this week, he says now has a much more thorough knowledge of the squad at his disposal than in his opening matches that included back-to-back defeats at Burnley and Reading.

"A manager can't ask for any more than the players are giving," he said. " I can tell them what I want and how we go about it but they still have to put it in and that's what they're doing."
