Boss backs Becchio

NEIL Redfearn is backing Luciano Becchio to boost Rotherham United's survival fight.

The Argentinean striker has signed until the end of the season after coming through a trial and is desperate to prove himself again after a run of injury problems.

And Millers chief Redfearn hasn't ruled out Becchio being involved at Cardiff City tomorrow.

Redfearn told the Advertiser: “We had a private match against Sheffield Wednesday this week and Becchio played 90 minutes and scored and played well.

“He's a genuine goal scorer and a big target man, something we have not really had. He will be a good foil for whoever he plays alongside."

Tomorrow's match could come too soon for injured skipper Lee Frecklington but loan man Farrend Rawson is back in training after receiving treatment at parent club Derby County. Long-term casualties Leon Best and Stephen Kelly won't return until next month.
