HERITAGE SOCIETY: Chairman David Dyson has resigned. The search is on for a new chairman and also treasurer as Alan Thompson has decided to retire. A query via the website concerns members of the Wadsworth family, most particularly Frederick Charles, who married Gertrude Marshall in Whiston in 1905, and their children. The enquirer’s grandfather John Edward was born in 1917 and his place of birth is given as Pinfold Cottages, Whiston. Does anyone know anything about either the Wadsworth family or about Pinfold Cottages? Contact society secretary Mr Tompkin – contact details in the header for the Whiston section.

MEET YOUR COUNCILLORS: Julie Turner and Allen Cowles at Broom Lane Methodist Church on first and third Mondays 6-7pm and at Whiston Parish Hall on second and fourth Mondays 6-7pm. No appointments necessary.
