Fire in flat leaves man in hospital
A MAN was taken to hospital after a fire began in the bedroom of a first floor flat in the early hours of today.
The blaze – which was accidental – took place at Grange Lane, Maltby.
Fire crews from Maltby and Edlington were called at 1.05am.
A spokesperson for South Yorkshire Fire and Rescue said that it was believed the fire was caused by smoking materials.
The man was already out of the building by the time the fire crews arrived.
