ST GERARD'S CATHOLIC PRIMARY SCHOOL: Class 1 visited Conisbrough Castle to learn about how life would have been in medieval times. The children and staff were brave enough to climb to the top of the castle to see the panorama. Follow-up work has begun and will continue over the next couple of weeks. A display of artwork will be shown to celebrate the children’s learning. On October 5 Class 2 visited Rawmarsh CLC and made a film documentary about mythical creatures using green screen. They then created their very own mythical creatures using Comic Life. Posters are in Class 2. Class 4 will lead the assembly on Wednesday 9.15am. Y5/6 football – Y5/6 boys played football at St Bernard’s, coming fourth out of six. St Gerard’s Support Fund – the school asks for a contribution from each family of 60p per week, which can also be paid as £8 per term or £24 per year. Tomas King made his first Sacrament of Reconciliation at St Paul’s, Grimethorpe. Teacher training days – October 23, April 8. Today – Feast of St Gerard, mass celebrated with Bishop Ralph 10am. October 21 – Class 3 The Big Dig, Class 4 harvest assembly.
