THE other week when visiting Aston Leisure Centre my wife slipped slightly in the car park.
She was fine as she didn’t fall and there was no harm done. But when reporting it to the staff in the leisure centre she was told Rotherham Council will not let them grit their own car park as they may not do it properly and make it unsafe.
So while looking at cutting the size of our bins, charging for garden waste and paying for commissioners to do the job they so obviously are incapable of, they cannot see the common sense behind allowing staff to do a simple gritting job. Instead they send out council workers to do it.
Then they ask for help in finding ways to cut costs.
